MAPS AND VIEWS OF BIG CARRIBOO ISLAND

In 1779, Joseph F.W. Des Barres made a sea chart of the area around Pictou Harbor.  This map included a depiction of what is now known as Caribou Island.  Since that time, other map makers have covered the same ground (and water), emphasizing different features.  The following are some of these maps, as well as a view from the air and from space.
